REGULATORY HALT

H9Halt — Filings Not Current

Reviewed against exchange sources ·Published by Halt Strategy·Editorial policy

H9 is a delinquent-filings halt. The company has not filed the periodic reports it is required to file, so the market lacks current financial information and the exchange stops trading until the record is brought up to date. It frequently overlaps with auditor changes, restatements, and internal investigations.

What triggers it

  • Failure to file required periodic reports on time.
  • Withdrawal or restatement of previously filed financials that leaves the public record incomplete.

How long it lasts

Extended — the halt persists until the outstanding filings are made. Multi-week and multi-month H9 halts are not unusual.

How it resumes

Trading resumes once the exchange confirms the filing requirements have been satisfied.

What it means for a day trader

H9 usually signals an accounting problem rather than an operational one. The reason the filing is late is the actual story.

Positions are illiquid for the duration. Treat an H9 as capital removed from the account until further notice.
